6 Mitre Passage and 14 Pier Walk were developed in tandem as the first office blocks in the Greenwich Peninsula development.
The floor plates of the building curve slightly responding to the circular shape of the nearby Millennium Dome, or O2 as it's also called these days.
The interior of relatively slender floor plates are column-free.
The external appearance of the glass curtain walls is influenced by the Paul Klee painting "Fire at Evening" which has inspired the modular facade.
An open loop ground water extraction system that runs 80 metres under the building. In sinking boreholes so deep the water that is employed comes out at a temperature of only 14 degrees centigrade. This allows the beams in the offices to be chilled and helps provide 10% of the total energy of the project from renewable sources.
