  • St Dunstan of the West is a complete rebuild of an earlier church that partially occupied the site to take into account the widening of Fleet Street which saw the site boundaries move.
  • The church is based on St Peter's in York, a similar gothic lanterned tower church.
  • It was built by father and son, both called John Shaw. The younger replaced the elder when he died in 1832.
