Other Information

  • The hotel is constructed on the site of the old Cavendish Hotel which was demolished following the death of Rosa Lewis who frequented the hotel and made it a social centre in London.
  • The period from the beginning of demolition in 1964 to completion of the existing modernist building took a mere 19 months.
  • The structure features a three storey podium with a tower standing over it with twelve storeys of bedrooms.
  • The plant floor at the top of the tower, which is visually identifiable thanks to the break in the facade is hung from cantilevered roof beams..
