  • Plans for West India Quay first surfaced in 1996 after a proposal by Squire and Partners won a competition run by the London Docklands Development Company.
  • The bottom 12 floors are a Marriott Hotel. Floors 13-32 contain 158 apartments.
  • Contrary to common belief this is not and has never been London's tallest residential building.
  • 1 West India Quay has been featured extensively in a number of movies including Layer Cake where Daniel Craig is interrogated on the roof and 28 Weeks Later where Robert Carlyle and his family hole up in the face of a zombie invasion.
