Further Tower Plans For Croydon

Mondial House is a 35 metre tall, 9-floor office block in the heart of Croydon standing on 102 George Street. Long considered obsolete like much of the office stock within the borough, it now faces demolition with a much taller tower proposed in its place.

Developed by Bridgewater Property Ltd the scheme will consist of a 40-storey residential tower with a stepped top allowing the penthouses to benefit from a number of different roof terraces plus a roof garden for residents. In total there will be 250 new apartments, plus new commercial space on the ground floor although this has yet to be specified as retail or office.

The tower is intended to be part of the Fairfield Masterplan, a collection of new tall buildings in this part of Croydon that will go some way towards forming a dense cluster with 102 George Street reaching a height of about 120 metres.

Should the project be approved, and the plans won't even be submitted until this September, the developer expects to begin demolition on the site in late 2015 with construction beginning in 2016. With the London property market the way it is, it would come as no surprise if this were the earliest possible date.
