Call For 2009 CTBUH Award Nominations

The Chicago-based Committee of Tall Buildings and Urban Habit are looking for nominations for the 2009 annual awards to be held in October to help choose what their membership considers to be the best projects and most important skyscraper builders of the year.

In all there are seven categories for nominations -

The Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award
Fazlur Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal
Best Tall Building Award
Americas Best Tall Building Award
Asia & Australasia Best Tall Building Award
Europe Best Tall Building Award
Middle East & Africa Best Tall Building
Overall Award Best Tall Building

Different criteria are set out for the categories but basically for lifetime achievements. The recommendation needs to include relevant information on the nominees experience and contributions, as well as justification as to why the individual should be considered.

For the buildings submission information must include building data, project team information, a text description, and images and drawings that can illustrate the schemes sufficiently.

Submissions will be considered by the awards committee which will this year be headed by American architect Gordon Gill of GG and AS architects, one of the leading designers of the Burj Dubai. The rest of the committee will be selected shortly.

To nominate a person or building for one of the awards a registration form can be found on the CTBUH website at http://www.ctbuh.org/Events/Awards/tabid/73/Default.aspx.The deadline for nominations is May 15th 2009.
