Another residential tower has been proposed in the London Borough of Croydon.
The twenty three storey building will stand at 4-20 Edridge Road on the southern edge of the main cluster of tall buildings and contain 133 one to three bedroom units. It's been designed by architects, MDR Associates, who are also working on rebuilding Impact House next door.
The slim-line residential tower stands above what will be a commercial podium although the designers have yet to decide whether this will be office or retail space.
Either way this will provide an active amount of commercial frontage onto the street level. The podium section will also give them an opportunity to include a large roof terrace on the top of it for residents to enjoy.
During the night the project will be lit up with designer lighting creating a distinctive modern landmark on the Croydon skyline that can be enjoyed from miles around.
Croydon is well known as one of the leading skylines in London, third to only Canary Wharf and the City of London. This constant drip-drip of proposals after a dry patch of twenty years should be enough to help it maintain its position regardless of what else gets thrown up throughout the capital.
