Other Information

  • Laurel Court and Rosemary Court were demolished as a result of housing cuts made by the Thatcher government in the early 1980s. Local Authority Housing Departments were prevented from spending more than 20% of their income and assets on property maintenance, and so it was impossible for the local council to repair the buildings as they reached 20 years old. As a result they were demolished.
