  • Grand Central Hotel is one of the great Victorian railway hotels constructed to serve the main train stations of Britain. In this case the hotel connects directly to Glasgow's Central Station.
  • To help prepare and inspire him for the design, Rowand Anderson conducted a railway tour of Britain to see what the large railway hotels already in existence were like.
  • Numerous famous guests have stayed at the hotel including Winston Churchill, John F Kennedy and Queen Elizabeth the II. Further to these a host of celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Fred Astaire, Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant and Marlon Brando have also been guests.
