  • Designed by Ryder and Yates (now known as Ryder Architecture), Beacon House was the first residential tower block to be constructed in the north-east of England.
  • Originally masterplanned as one of four similar towers, the building was in the end constructed on its own with low-rise architecture built in the place of its proposed three cousins.
