  • The tower was reconstructed starting in 1871 due to structural problems it was experiencing, particularly with having to carry the weight of the bells and poor construction techniques which had seen stones laid at incorrect angles. Built from red Williton sandstone, the total cost of reconstructing the tower was 3,072.
