  • Overwhelmingly built of red brick, the Victoria Building was so influential as to inspire the phrase "Red Brick University".
  • The Victoria Building was the first purpose built part of the University of Liverpool's campus.
  • The design features a number of pieces of typical Victoriana including Ruabon brick and terracotta, the lead spirelets on the corner columns of the tower and inscriptions of Tennyson's In Memorium on the bells inside the tower.
