Other Information

  • This scheme is a conversion of the former BT office building in Manchester's Piccadilly into a four star hotel run by MacDonald Hotels.
  • Ironically the building was originally designed as a hotel as a way of securing tax relief in an environment where the government gave that advantage to hotel builders. Only weeks before it was due to open, legislation changed so it was converted to an office building and let to British Telecom.
