St Giles Church, known as the Wrexham Steeple is recounted as one of the "seven wonders of Wales" in the traditional rhyme.
The tower of the church replaces a previous one that had collapsed in the 1300s. It was not until approaching 200 years later when fire had also ravaged the church that it was rebuilt with matching gothic styling for the refurbished church starting 1506.
Ironically the Wrexham Steeple is not actually a steeple.
