  • The building was constructed using a similar in situ concrete system to that of St Katherine's Dock House in London that was constructed in 1964.
  • The Tower Building is part of the masterplan drawn up by Sir Basil Spence in 1962 for the Applied Sciences area of Nottingham University.
  • The building was designed to host the architecture school on the upper five floors and electrical engineering on the floors underneath.
