Tattershall Castle

Images

  • Tattershall Castle Lincolnshire

Other Information

  • Standing on the site of a previous castle constructed in the 13th century, the existing Tattershall Castle utilises 700,000 bricks.
  • The poor defensive abilities of bricks compared to stone combined with the size of the three huge staterooms the castle held has led to speculation from historians that the building was actually constructed as an early mansion that was merely styled as a fortress.
