  • It was the second Richard Rogers building to be built in the City following Lloyds of London.
  • Arranged as a stepped building with three blocks of 8, 12, 16 levels, each of these opens out on their roof section into a sky garden offering views of the City of London.
  • 88 Wood Street features solar detectors on the roof that monitor the solar gain on the building and automatically adjust the angle of blinds on the back cavity of the triple glazing to help keep it cool inside.
  • The building services are located on the outside of the building in six corner shafts that allow the floor-plates to be free of traditional cores and fully open.
  • This building was the 2000 RIBA award winner.
