Other Information

  • The Quay Street Tower was proposed to be built behind Sunlight House, finished in 1932. If built it would have been the tallest high-rise building in Europe.
  • It was refused permission as it was said to be inconsiderate, as much of Manchester was still rebuilding after the blitz of World War 2.
  • The site is currently home to a multi-storey car park.
