Other Information

  • This striking glass clad twin tower scheme was the winner of an architectural competition for which there were three main entries. The mixed use proposal is to include residential, hotel and office accomoadation, with some retail at ground floor levels. It is located very centrally, adjacent to Leeds City railway station, on probably the most prime location still undevelped in central Leeds.
  • The winning developers are currently in negotiation with the City Council for purchase of the land. Sale of the land was due to be complete late in 2005, however, after long delays from legal issues relating to the sale of the land, it is now reported that the sale is now near completion, and the first core sample testing has started on site.
  • A pre application presentation is being made to the planning panel in November 2007, for a revised scheme in which the main tower has increased in height from 47 to 53 storeys.
